Easter crafts and afternoon tea

Here comes Easter! Our afternoon at the Citizens Centre Hall in Northcote on 31 March will be a fun two hours of themed crafts activity for children accompanied by their parents. We will serve afternoon tea. All free of charge.

The aim of these afternoons is to provide a way for community members to connect and get to know each other. Also, older adults and children enjoy each other’s company in a safe and caring environment. Others helping out as volunteers makes the afternoons possible.

Cathy Fraser has been designing the activities, assisted by church friends who have been cutting out and assembling materials. Cathy will again run the event on the day.

‘We’d like these events for Easter, Matariki and Christmas to become a regular fixture among the newly created community in Northcote,’ says Cathy. ‘Residents who have been to previous afternoons said things like, “I met my neighbour!” and “It’s neat seeing young and old connect.”‘

Please help us to share the word with families in the area.
