Promoting community wellbeing

Onewa Christian Community is pleased to be hosting two of the PSN community wellbeing workshops during August. Presbyterian Support Northern is working with clinical partners to equip church members (including some of ours) with key skills that will lead to better and more supportive conversations.

The first module will focus on refreshing and extending participants’ own self-awareness and skills in managing personal wellbeing. The second looks at connecting with and supporting other people safely. These could be people in a church or in the wider community. The sessions and follow up programme will be delivered by experienced clinically-trained personnel and educators, backed up a specialist organisations we can turn to for support. We’re grateful to have the opportunity to offer this initiative in one of our churches, and it complements other activities such as the free counselling practicum and restorative practice work we are supporting.
