The Birkenhead Repair Café is a partnership with Highbury House. The Highbury House Repair Café was started 5 years ago due to the awareness of the expensive of repairing items meaning that people were throwing items out and buying new, rather than fixing what they had.

Due to the small size of Highbury House, Repair Café events are held at Onewa Christian Community at 172 Hinemoa Street. OCC volunteers provide a delicious morning tea at the event. The volunteers have been part of the initiative from the beginning and include electricians, general repairs, sewists and a jeweller.
