A great floral affair it was!

Floral Affair on 24 September 2022 took the theme ‘showtime.’ Vibrant floral displays for this spring-time tradition featured Moulin Rouge, The Sound of Music, Chess, Lion King, the splendours and shows of New Orleans, Cats, The Muppet Show, Singin’ in the Rain, Madame Butterfly, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, My Fair Lady, Hair, South Pacific and The Phantom of the Opera. Floral and other artistic touches were certainly on display.

Performances featured piano duets, the cornet, the trumpet, the harp, a reading to acknowledge the death of Queen Elizabeth II and a musical quiz – guess the show tune. Then came a splendid high tea, served on fine china by a host at each beautifully decorated table.

We acknowledge the support of the performers and speakers: Pat, Peter and Joseph Reid, Robert Barnes and Lynette Reid, Greg Morgan, Robyn Allen Goudge (Robyn the Harper), Grace Nicholson-Symes, Lee Martelli, Kerry Wood and Mary Boyd.

Our Onewa Road venue (St Aidans) was at capacity for the afternoon. Warm thanks to all our paying guests at this parish fundraiser, to the performers who gifted their skills and time to us, to our creative floral artists, to our MC and to the congregation members and their family and friends who worked so hard to plan and deliver such a successful event. What a super time for reconnecting with friends and for getting to know new people.
