Connecting up

Onewa Christian Community says it’s open and connecting – this is what it looks like.

Input on the Kaipātiki Local Board plan

Participants at the community breakfast on 16 April shared their thoughts on priorities for the local board to consider in four areas: belonging and wellbeing, places and spaces; transport and connections; the environment. Two congregation members took our feedback on the day and fed it into a local board consultation workshop the next day.

Our people placed value on, e.g. local events and accessible services, fostering community connections, pocket parks and the right plants in the right places, allowing rivers and streams to follow their natural course, and a range of future-proofed transport options.

Meeting with Jim and Patti Symons

Cathy represented us at a lunch hosted for churches to meet the founder of the Justice-Compassion Trust, Rev. Jim Symons and his wife Patti. The Trust has awarded Onewa Christian Community $6,000 for local wellbeing initiatives.
